Gratitude is so important to kindle the fire in the human heart. think about some of the things we take for granted. Take electricity, for example. When Sandy went berserk and knocked our electric poles and wires down and your lights went out, didn't you think about how grateful you would be if you could just see the tiniest flicker of light?

When I start to complain about anything, I think of how much I already have, especially the things I take for granted. The complaint recedes into the backdrop and the beauty of gratitude shines through my open heart. As we move towards the holiday season and the fever pitch of consumerism all around us, remember to take a few moments to express your gratitude for everything, and pass the torch to friends, familyand strangers.
